Scheduled Training
Java Associate will enable a non-programmer to become
familar with all Java technologies and is intended to
assist people not in a programming role to understand
the basics of Java software technologies. The course
follows the Sun Certified Java Associate model and its
content consists of: Java Technologies (JSP, Web and
Enterprise Technologies (EJB), JVM, JNDI and JNI);
Object Oriented Analysis and Design; and finally
Java Coding Basics (getting started with Java development
including logic and data types).
Duration is one week full time. Cost €995.
Foundations of Java will enable a programmer to be proficient
with Java and helps to prepare them for the Sun Certified Java
Programming (SCJP) qualification. Content consists of:
Data Types & Operators; Classes, Methods & Interfaces;
Java Language Fundamentals; Object Oriented Programming
and finally Execution Flow Control.
Duration is one week full time. Cost €995.
Advanced Java will enable a programmer to be proficient
with Java and helps to prepare them for the Sun Certified Java
Programming (SCJP) qualification. Content consists of:
Exceptions & Assertions; Input & Output; Strings, Formatters & Wrappers;
Collections & Generics and finally Threads.
Duration is one week full time. Cost €995.
Java Performance and System Testing is a two week course that will
up-skill candidates in both the theoretical and practical elements of
performance testing for Java systems. The course consists of:
Performance Fundamentals (Queuing Theory, Software Performance
Engineering Strategies); JVM and its Internal Components (Heap,
Classloader); Advanced Testing Topics (Load Testing, Memoryleak &
Deadlock Detection); Tools for System Testing and Performance Analysis
(Load Generators, Performance Profilers, Heap Analysers).
Duration is two weeks full time. Cost €1,995.

Up-skilling IT Professionals with UCD
crovan together with UCD are offering training for IT professionals who have
recently been made redundant, under threat of redundancy or are working
in Small and Medium Enterprises that are not able to train at present.
The nominal cost for the "Introduction to Java Technology" course
is €45. It is the intention that this course would be taken to bring a non-programmer
to a standard for the Sun Certified Java Associate (SCJA) qualification.

Up-skilling Programmers to Java with UCD
crovan together with UCD are offering training for programers who
are either unemployed, under threat of redundancy, or working in Small
and Medium Enterprises who can not currently avail of commercial training courses.
The nominal cost for each of the "Java Programming" courses is €75.
It is the intention that both "Java Programming Part 1 (SCJP)" and
"Java Programming Part 2 (SCJP)" would be taken to bring a non-Java programmer
to a standard for the Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP) qualification.
